Swedish Pure Propolis (Dried) 20g
Swedish Pure Propolis (Dried) 20g
In the beehive there is a kind of wax called propolis, bee kit or putty wax. This wax is created by the bees to ensure that the hive is sealed against the intrusion of viruses, bacteria and fungi. Propolis is basically a mixture of resin that comes from conifers and the resin coating found on the buds of deciduous trees.
The bees use their saliva and pollen and seeds to create small pieces that are then used to seal the hive. These bits have also proven to be like health bombs of sorts for us humans. After all, they contain completely natural substances that we would otherwise have difficulty getting hold of in such a concentrated way.
Propolis is not a new discovery. The ancient Greeks used the putty from the beehives for its healing properties to treat wounds. In modern times, we know more about the composition and research has mapped around 300 different substances that together form propolis. This composition is completely natural and incredibly impressive.
An interesting observation is that propolis can have slightly different ingredients depending on where in the world it has been produced. Propolis from Europe does not have the same chemical structure as propolis from Brazil.
Contains: Pure Propolis dried.
Dosage: 1-3g of dried propolis can be used directly in your mouth. Good for sore throat, cold, and ulcers. Propolis contains healing properties and it strengthens your immunity. Other than ingesting, you can also mix a small amount of pure propolis with water and apply it on your skin sores.
If you are allergic to honey or bees, you may be allergic to propolis. It is difficult to get around the fact that there is honey in propolis and propolis in honey, as both products come from the beehive.
It is also important to note that you may have a reaction after using propolis for a long time. Therefore, be aware if you suddenly experience allergic symptoms and do not rule out your propolis ointment or the dietary supplement as the reason just because you have been using it for several weeks.
If you have previous problems with allergies and asthma, it may be wise to consult a specialist doctor before you start treating your skin with propolis cream or taking supplements with the substance.
Otherwise, propolis has no particular side effects to consider. As always, it is important to be aware of how a new skin care product or dietary supplement affects you. If you experience symptoms, you should immediately stop using and investigate what is causing them.
